Manchester United extend contracts of Rashford, Shaw, Fred and Dalot

Manchester United has triggered one-year contract extensions for Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot, and Fred.

Manchester United

manager, Eric Ten Hag, has confirmed that the club has decided to trigger one-year contract extension for four players.

Rashford,

Fred,

Shaw

, and Dalot all were set to become free agents in the summer of 2023.

The 25-year-old Rashford has scored nine goals in 20 matches in all competitions this season. Fred, Shaw, and Dalot also have played regularly for United in the 2022-23 season.

Ten Hag told MUTV:

"Yes, I can confirm it.

"We are happy because the squad is going in the right direction and those players [have made] a massive contribution in that direction.

"We want to develop, we want to support those players and we want them to keep in our process, so that's why we came to those decisions, I'm sure they are the right decisions.

"We want to construct a team for the future, for longer years, and those players have to be part of it.”

Manchester United beat Burnley last Tuesday in the EFL Cup last 16 round and will face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Ten Hag’s side is in fifth place with 26 points after 14 matches.
