Christian Eriksen reveals Totti and Laudrup as his boyhood idols

Ahead of Denmark's Wednesday clash against Australia, the Manchester United star revealed Totti and Laudrup were his boyhood idols who he found playing Football Manager.

Winning the club’s Player of the Month award for September,

Christian Eriksen

joined the Red Devils as a free agent following a brief spell at Brentford where he headed after recovering from a cardiac arrest he suffered in Euro 2022.

The Dane quickly became a key part of Erik ten Hag's

Manchester United

team and helped his side gain victories against Tottenham, Everton, Arsenal, and Liverpool this year. Despite the achievements, the 30-year-old midfielder insists his new club still has developments to do.

Asked about his favorite players when growing up in

Q&A with United fans

, Eriksen said:

"I had two. [Francesco] Totti because I played Football Manager and then, after, it was Laudrup.

Asked why Laudrup, he added: "Michael Laudrup, the one and only. Just because he was Danish and I liked his style."

Denmark

is desperate to win the clash against Australia on Wednesday as they have only taken one point so far from their Qatar 2022 tournament.
