Thomas Delaney to miss the rest of Denmark’s World Cup campaign

Sevilla midfielder Thomas Delaney will miss the rest of the World Cup after being injured in Denmark’s clash with Tunisia

Denmark midfielder,Thomas Delaney limped off the pitch just before the half time in the game against Tunisia and now it has been revealed that the 31-year-old will miss the rest of Denmark’s World Cup games due to a knee injury.

Delaney, who was an essential player in Hjumland’s

Denmark

, felt uneasy after a challenge he made in the first half and despite initially getting up, minutes later he couldn’t continue with the game and had to be replaced by Mikkel Damsgaard.

Hjumland talked to the press, after it was revealed that

Delaney

will miss the rest of the World Cup because of a knee injury, saying:

“We will miss him, both on and off the pitch,"

"Other players are ready, and we have a strong squad for the next matches."

Despite being pegged as one of the surprise packages of the tournament, Denmark failed to impress against

Tunisia

, leaving many critics doubtful over their chances of reaching the latter stages. And now with the news of one of their star players being ruled out for the rest of the competition, Denmark’s chances of success seem even slimmer.
