Fans unable to attend the England match on time due to a ticket snafu

Although England’s match against Iran started on time, many fans were unable to get into the Khalifa International stadium before kick-off

Fans of

England

and Iran were unable to get into Khalifa International stadium before the start of the game because of an error in FIFA’s ticketing system.

The competition has been mired in controversy years for some time now. This time however, it seems that FIFA is the culprit since it was their app which proved faulty ahead of

Iran

and England match.

The game started with thousands of empty seats due to a problem with FIFA Ticketing app which prompted FIFA to release an statement which said: "

Some spectators are currently experiencing an issue with accessing their tickets via the FIFA Ticketing app. FIFA is working on solving the issue.

"In the meantime, fans who are not able to access their mobile tickets should check the email accounts they used to register with the Ticketing app for further instructions.

"In case fans cannot access their email accounts, the stadium's Ticket Resolution Point will be able to support. We thank fans for their understanding as we work to fix the issue as soon as possible."
