Brozovic: Croatia are looking for a better finish than the last World Cup

Croatia star Marcelo Brozovic says only winning the trophy will satisfy him at this World Cup, following losing in the final in 2018.

Croatia

is in Group F with Belgium, Morocco, and Canada. They will face Morocco in their first game on November 23.

Speaking to Nova TV,

Brozovic

who suffered a hamstring injury back in September discussed his physical condition ahead of the

World Cup

in Qatar.

“I feel good, I have been training well for the last two weeks. I entered the last three games 15 and 20 minutes each. I feel good and I hope to get better.”

He was asked about the meeting with his former teammate Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi in the World Cup.

“I didn’t stay in touch with him after he left Inter. We only spoke a few times but he is playing very well in Paris, he is doing very well. He is a very fast and troublesome player, but I think we will prepare well for him.”

Inter midfielder admitted that he is not familiar with their group stage opponents Canada.

“Honestly nothing, we haven’t had a chance to talk yet. We will have a meeting about them and I think we will be ready for that match.”

Brozovic also said that their objective in this tournament is not different from the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“For me there is no difference. Our imperative is to escape the group and we will see. We must all give our all in every game, those who play, those who come in and those who are in the stands.

“If we give everything in every game, there will be no problems.”

The 30-year-old believes Croatia is a more respected team than 4 years ago.

“I think so because they see that when we are all healthy and together, it is difficult to stop us.”

Croatia lost in the final in Russia and Brozovic said only winning the cup would satisfy him this time.

“We are looking for a better finish than last time.”
