had to be substituted in the 18th minute after hurting his lower right leg in the game against Barcelona on Saturday.

After the game, Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso said Cavani had pain in his ankle. Gattuso told MARCA:

“He had discomfort in his ankl. We have to take a good look at Cavani because he was not well.”

Now, the Spanish press reports that his injury is not serious, and he will be back to training in the coming days. He may miss the game against Real Sociedad but everyone is confident that he will be fit before the World Cup.

The 35-year-old striker has been included on Uruguay’s preliminary list of players for the World Cup in Qatar. As their first game in the World Cup, Uruguay will face South Korea on Nov. 24. They also face Portugal and Ghana in Group H.

After leaving Manchester United, Cavani decided to join

on a free transfer at the end of August. He has scored four goals for his new team so far.

Cavani has scored 58 goals in 133 matches and is Uruguay’s second-highest-ever goal scorer behind Luis Suarez, who has scored 68 goals. Cavani won the Copa America in 2011. He also has played in the last three World Cups and scored in all of them.
