Chelsea 1-1 Manchester United: Casemiro saves the Red Devils

Manchester United snatched a draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday with a stunning goal by Casemiro.

Manchester United

were lucky to get a point from the game at Stamford Bridge. After Scott McTominay fouled Armando Broja and gave the Blues a penalty with three minutes left in normal time,

Jorginho

scored to put the Blues ahead.

But United, who left Cristiano Ronaldo off their team for disciplinary reasons, tied the game when

Casemiro

scored his first goal for the club after Raphael Varane limped off in tears.

In the Premier League table, the Red Devils are still one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea, who failed to keep a clean sheet for the sixth straight game. United mostly controlled the first half. Marcus Rashford and Antony both had good chances to score, but Chelsea goalkeeper

Kepa Arrizabalaga

made some good saves to stop them.

Graham Potter changed back to a back four by putting

Mateo Kovacic

in for

Marc Cucurella

before halftime. This helped Chelsea settle down, but Antony missed another chance when he was put behind.

The visitors took a hit when Varane left the field in tears after he seemed to hurt his knee. This was right before Nathaniel Chalobah's header just missed the crossbar.

Jorginho's penalty gave Chelsea the lead late in the game. It was given because McTominay grabbed Broja as he tried to attack a corner, but there was still more to come.

Luke Shaw sent a cross into the box, and Casemiro's header had enough power to beat Kepa. Kepa helped the ball onto the post, but it fell on the wrong side of the goal line.

The game ended well for Erik ten Hag's team, but United and France are worried about how bad Varane's injury is. The World Cup starts in less than a month. Varane was a calming presence during his hour on the field, but he looked like he was in a lot of pain as he left.
