Laporta fined for his reaction with referees after loss against Madrid

The Barcelona president was furious about how his side’s game against Los Blancos turned out to be and he was fined for his reaction following the game.

Joan Laporta

has to pay a fine of €602 for his furious reaction against the referee in the changing room following Barcelona’s disappointing 3-1 loss at the hands of Real Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday.

Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde met the back of the net during the first half and gave Real Madrid the 2-0 advantage; however, Ferran Torres scored a goal for the Blaugrana in the 83rd minute, giving his side some hope. Despite their efforts to level the game, a VAR review gifted Real Madrid a penalty as Eric Gracia tripped Rodrygo, who found the target for Los Blancos and sealed his side’s three points.

The result of the match led to a reaction from Laporta, whose furious reaction against Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez after the game resulted in Laporta being fined.

He was fined on Wednesday as he violated the article 133 of the disciplinary code as well as article 255, which refers to accessing the changing room by those who are not allowed.

The loss on Sunday helped Madrid go past Barcelona in the La Liga table, which was a blow for Laporta’s side after their hopes for Champions League was low following their 3-3 draw with Inter.
