Ancelotti confirmed: Courtois to miss Elche game

The Belgian star has not yet found the conditions to return to his team's squad.

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Thibaut Courtois will be absent for his team's match against Elche.

Courtois, who was announced yesterday by France Football as the best goalkeeper in the world, after returning from the international break, appeared in Real Madrid's training with an injury, and then in the next few weeks, he was not able to accompany his team. Courtois has been absent for five games so far and Andriy Lunin has replaced him in the Real Madrid lineup. Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the absence of Courtois again in the press conference before the match against Elche.

He said:

“Thibaut is not there tomorrow. He is training quite normally… he is doing work…. he is doing a good job.”

It seems that the time of the Belgian goalkeeper's return to the Real Madrid team has not yet been determined, and even though it was announced that he was added to the team's training on Thursday, he still could not find the conditions to play and the severity of the injury was greater than expected.

Last season, Courtois was one of the most effective players in his team's success with his exceptional performance in both La Liga and Champions League, and yesterday, his superiority was confirmed once again by receiving the title of the best goalkeeper in the world from France Football. Lunin has had good performances during this period, but the absence of the Belgian goalkeeper is still considered in Real Madrid's lineup.
