Bayern’s Bundesliga winless run continues after Augsburg loss

Bayern Munich suffered another disappointing loss this season in the Bundesliga as they went down 1-0 against Augsburg.

Bayern Munich

were defeated 1-0 at the hands of

Augsburg

, which marked their fourth game with no victory in the Bundesliga.

Mergim Berisha

met the target for his side and sealed their victory on Saturday. While Bayern created many chances to pull the game level, they failed to do so, with shot-stopper Rafal Gikiewicz pulling off impressive saves for his side.

The Augsburg goalkeeper was able to deny Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane from finding the back of the net.

The international break is around the corner and the Bundesliga champions have not been able to win a game so far since vanquishing Bochum 7-0 on August 21.

Bayern could have scored the opener in the 33rd minute with the help of Thomas Muller and Jamal Musiala. However, the 19-year-old failed to find the target through Gikiewicz. Augsburg also had the best chance to net in the first half, but failed to use that advantage. The hosts did manage to take the lead after all, as Mergm Berisha scored in the 59th minute.

Thomas Muller should have leveled the game for the Bundesliga champions soon after with the help of Sane, but the opponents’ shot-stopper pulled off another save. There was another save for Sane as well when there were only 20 minutes left.
