Real Madrid rejected Liverpool's €100m bid for Valverde

The Uruguayan star is one of the key players in Ancelotti's side and Madrid will not lose him easily.

Real Madrid

have reportedly rejected a €100m bid for

Fede Valverde

in the summer.

While Los Blancos sold one of their key players, Casemiro, to

Manchester United

in the summer, there was a risk that the team's other midfield star could leave for the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool wanted to sign the Uruguayan star from Real Madrid for 100 million euros, but the club's directors have opposed this proposal.

Romano told Caught Offside:

“I’m told they wanted an opportunity and not a top player at the end of the market as they will focus on new midfielder in 2023.”

However, some in Spain have wondered how Liverpool don't rate him as a top player given the Uruguayan star's superb form last season.

He added:

“Real Madrid never wanted to discuss Valverde’s exit as they already lost Casemiro.”

Valverde is known as one of the most committed players to the team and even if there is an offer, the buying team will have a hard time convincing him. He continues to play a prominent role in Real Madrid's team and in the last two games he has managed to score two important goals for Los Blancos and has also sent an assist to his teammates.
