Diego Costa set to join Wolves on free transfer

Former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid star Diego Costa will join Wolves on a free transfer after he was granted a work permit.

According to Fabrizio Romano,

Wolves

's appeal for

Costa’s

work permit has been accepted and he will fly to England on Wednesday to discuss the final details of the free transfer. Romano claims that the 33-year-old Costa will sign a one-year deal with the English club.

Costa joined Atletico Mineiro in 2021 but leave them last January after his contract was terminated. He played 19 times and scored five goals for them. Costa has not played a single professional game since December of last year.

Costa has been linked with Brazilian side Corinthians and also La Liga mid-table side Rayo Vallecano.

Costa spent three-and-a-half years at

Atletico Madrid

after leaving Chelsea in 2017. He scored 19 goals in 81 matches in all competitions for Atletico during his second spell.
