Thierry Henry: "Kylian Mbappe is a better player than Erling Haaland"
Despite outstanding performance from both of the players, the Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry believes the Man City star is not on the same level as Kylian Mbappe.
Haaland and
Kylian Mbappeboth scored twice as their sides started their Champions League campaign victorious. While
Manchester Citybeat Sevilla 4-0, the Parisians had a harder job against
Juventuswinning 2-1.
The Premier League champions signed
Erling Haalandfor a reported £51 million deal from
Dortmundthis summer, and the Norwegian fast-tracked his career at City scoring nine goals in his first five Premier League appearances.
However,
Thierry Henrybelieves the Norwegian has a lot to do to reach the level of the
Paris Saint-Germainstar. The Gunners’ legend said on
CBS:
"Mbappe can create and finish. Haaland doesn't create. He finishes. Mbappe can play on the right and on the left. He can play in the middle. Haaland can only play in the middle.
"He is a magnificent player and with him they can win the Champions League last year. Against Real Madrid, if it was him at the end of those chances that they missed, they will have been focused on scoring one or two. For now, Mbappe is still my vote."
Manchester City will host
Tottenhamfor their next Premier League game this Saturday before another Champions League clash with Dortmund.
