West Ham submits an official offer to sign PSG’s Thilo Kehrer

Having been identified as a defensive target by the Hammers, the club has officially submitted a transfer offer to sign the 25-year-old Germany international who can both play as a right-back and centre-back.

According to

Sky Sports

, West Ham has made an offer to sign Thilo Kehrer and is currently waiting for a response from

Paris Saint-Germain

. The outlet reports the Hammers are already monitoring other options if an agreement with the Ligue 1 champions cannot be reached.

Being in the last year of his contract with the Parisians, his signature could be a great defensive addition to David Moyes' squad amid an injury crisis. Losing their Premier League opener 2-0 to Manchester City,

the Hammers

had just one centre-back, Kurt Zouma, fit for the clash with Angelo Ogbonna, Nayef Aguerd, and Craig Dawson all injured.

PSG signed

Thilo Kehrer

from Schalke in 2018 for a €37 million fee and the Germany international went on to win seven major honors with the Parisians. Kehrer is assured on the ball and is capable of playing with both feet. This enables him to move the ball forward and play in more forward positions. The youthful center-back can play in any position in the backline and can even play as a defensive midfielder. He has made a total of 20 senior caps for the

Germany national team

.
