Wolves are set to sign Valencia forward Goncalo Guedes for £27.5m.
According to the English press,
Wolveshas reached an agreement with
Valenciaover the transfer of
Goncalo Guedesin a deal worth £27.5m. The Portugal international will fly in for a medical on Monday before signing a long-term deal.
Guedes began his career at Benfica and later joined Paris St-Germain. Guedes joined Valencia from Paris Saint Germain in 2017 on a loan deal and the Spanish club made the deal permanent a year later. The 25-year-old has scored 36 goals in 178 matches for Valencia.
Wolves so far have only signed defender Nathan Collins this summer. Hee-chan Hwang also completed a permanent switch from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £15m.
Wolves also are close to selling skipper Conor Coady to Everton. Coady wants to play regularly to keep his England place for the World Cup.
Bruno Lage’s side started their Premier League season with a 2-1 defeat at Leeds on Saturday.
Lage after the game told reporters:
“I don’t think it’s unlucky. I think we did a good game, I think we were the better team, we created a lot of chances, and we didn’t score. It’s not about luck. I’m happy with the performance, but not happy with the result.
“I said before the game that we came here with big confidence, and we’ll score goals because the pre-season was good and we have the confidence to play in this system. I was right to feel that confidence, and we continued to play."
