Tottenham hoping to sign Udinese left back Destiny Udogie
Both Tottenham and Brighton want to sign Destiny Udogie, the left back for Udinese.
Last season,
Destiny Udogiewas on loan from
Hellas Verona
to
Udinese, where he became one of the best young defenders in Serie A. His loan was made permanent earlier this summer when Udinese's obligation to buy him for €4 million kicked in.
There has been interest in the 19-year-old from Serie A, where
Juventus
and Inter have asked to be kept in the loop. However, sources have told 90min that interest from England could make the deal more expensive than they think the player is worth.
has started talks with Udinese about a deal worth around €25 million that would see Udogie loaned back out right away. He could stay with his current team for another season, but Brighton wants to offer him Premier League action right away.
The Seagulls expect to lose Marc Cucurella to Chelsea, and Udogie has been suggested as a possible replacement. Officials from the club are ready to match Tottenham's offer and hope that the quick path to the Premier League will help them get Udogie. If Brighton loses to Tottenham, they might borrow Udogie from their Premier League rivals Tottenham.
