My move to Leipzig the most important transfer - David Raum

The new RB Leipzig signing has a lot of confidence after his move from Hoffenheim.

David Raum

has named his move from

Hoffenheim

to

RB Leipzig

“the most important transfer” in the Bundesliga before the start of the new season.

The new signing has progressed more and more these past few seasons, contributing 15 assists in Greuther Furth’s 2020-21 promotion season before providing 11 more in the top flight last season after making a move to Hoffenheim.

The wing-back led all defenders in Bundesliga in assists and has now made a move to RB Leipzig.

The Germany defender is confident his move can boost his new side significantly as they aim to win the title.

"With the new additions that Bayern has brought in, they are probably clear favourites for the championship,"

he told a news conference.

"But I think we have a team that can also win titles. I want to strengthen this team, and then we'll see how much we can annoy Bayern.

"Of course, the others have strengthened well. But I think the most important transfer was mine to RB Leipzig."

Raum’s move happened before the World Cup in Qatar, with the Germany international keen on sealing a spot in Hansi Flick’s team and admitted that he talked to his national team manager about the move.

"I was in close contact with national coach Hansi Flick, called him and took him with me on my way,"

he added.

"He is a coach who always wants to know what is going on in the players' minds, what the next step will be.

"He was immediately convinced of the idea that I fit in well here and can take the next steps. I am firmly convinced that I can assert myself here and hopefully go to the World Cup."
