De Ketealere’s Milan deal finally done

Charles De Ketelaere has made a move away from Club Brugge to join the Rossoneri, becoming their most expensive player of this era.

Charles De Ketelaere

is not going to wear the Number 90 jersey and penned a deal that will keep him until 2027, earning €2.2m every season.

Milan

and Club Brugge were negotiating all summer and the deal seemed to be close to collapsing, but they have finally signed a deal worth €32m plus €3m in bonuses and a 12.5 per cent cut of the future transfer fee.

The Belgium international came to Milan to undergo his medical today before penning the five-year deal.

Paying €35m, De Ketelaere is Milan’s most expensive signing since Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara became directors.

The 21-year-old plays as a trequartista, behind the striker or attacking midfielder, but he is also able to feature as a False 9. He had his Belgium senior debut in 2020, and has been capped eight times, meeting the target once.
