Sir Alex Ferguson handed new Manchester United role by club's CEO

Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson is back at Manchester United with a new role to help with all aspects of the club.

According to the

Daily Mail

,

Manchester United

chief executive Richard Arnold, has appointed Sir Alex Ferguson in a formal role to use his wealth of experience.

Arnold has set up a group involving Ferguson, former CEO David Gill, former United captain Bryan Robson and current football director John Murtough to help him with all aspects of the club.

Former Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson was spotted at Carrington on Tuesday the same day

Cristiano Ronaldo

returned for talks with Eric Ten Hag. Daily Mail claim that Tuesday’s meeting was the meeting involving the five men.

After Ferguson decided to retire in 2013, he remained on United’s football board as non-executive director which was a largely symbolic gesture, and former United chief executive Ed Woodward was in full control.

Arnold succeeded Woodward in February and since then has decided to hand more power to Ferguson. Daily Mail says that this group will advise Arnold on a wide range of issues which include the redevelopment of Old Trafford and Carrington, and the club’s relationship with its fans.
