Alli wants to prove himself to Lampard after Blackpool brace

The English star is aiming to return to his footballing prime and has had a good start to the pre-season.

After scoring his first goal for

Everton

,

Dele Alli

insisted he wants to fight to prove himself to Frank Lampard.

The former star of

Tottenham

and England was transferred to Goodison Park in January, but could not perform effectively for his team during this time. He made 11 appearances for the Toffees but was only a starter in one game, but scored twice in Sunday's 4-2 win over Blackpool. Now, he expressed hope that he can change his course and prove himself to Lampard.

He said:

"I got two goals, so I'm happy,"

"To achieve anything, we need to be fighting for places. No one's place is guaranteed. We have to work hard in every game and training session. Everything we do, we need to apply ourselves.

"When you're at a club like Everton, it's not for the manager to say that places are up for grabs."
