Madrid, Juventus and Barça meet in Las Vegas for the Superliga
Andrea Agnelli met Florentino Perez and Joan Laporta of Real Madrid and Barcelona in Las Vegas yesterday.
Andrea Agnelli
, the chairman of
Juventus, met
Real Madridand Barcelona's
Florentino Perez
and
Joan Laporta
yesterday in Las Vegas. They may have talked about the Super League.
Only these three clubs are still part of the infamous
Super League
plan, which was meant to compete with the Champions League. Last year, it was said that 12 clubs from all over Europe would be joining. However, the Premier League teams pulled out, which led other clubs like
Interand Milan to do the same.
La Gazzetta dello Sport said that Agnelli was in Las Vegas for Juventus' pre-season tour. While there, he met up with Perez and Laporta, who were also there for pre-season work, for lunch.
Even though there was a lot of backlash from fans, the three clubs are still committed to the Super League project, and it's possible that more was said about it at yesterday's lunch. The plan is now in court in Luxembourg, and last month Perez told El Chiringuito, "Of course it's still alive."
