Trincao return to Barcelona following loan spell with Wolves

The Portuguese international Francisco Trincao has returned to Barcelona after a season at Premier League.

Trincao

spent the 2021-22 football season on loan with the Premier League side

Wolves

and played in 30 appearances across all competitions while scoring three goals and now has returned to Spain after his contract expired.

Barcelona

is open to selling Trincao and Wolves could buy him permanently but they opted against activating a purchase clause for €30 million.

Trincao joined Barcelona from Barga in 2020 for €31 million. In his first season, he played in 42 games and scored three goals, and won the Copa Del Rey.

According to the Portuguese and Spanish press, Sporting Lisbon is the most interested club in the Portuguese international. Sporting wants to sign Trincao on a loan deal with an option to buy but they still could not reach an agreement with Barcelona.

Barcelona is willing to agree to a two-year loan deal with Sporting but they want a mandatory €20m transfer clause inserted into the deal. Sevilla and Valencia are also interested in Trincao but the 22-year-old player prefers a move to Portugal.

Trincao has played in 7 appearances for Portugal national team.
