Arsenal confirmed Guendouzi's permanent transfer to Lyon

The French midfielder spent unsuccessful days at Arsenal, but returned to his path at Lyon.

Arsenal

have confirmed that

Matteo Guendouzi

will leave the club and join Marseille.

After failing to find a place in Arsenal's squad, Guendouzi joined Lyon in July 2021 and returned to his former good form at home. He scored 5 goals and 14 assists in 55 games for Jorge Sampaoli's team, and with this team, he became the runner-up in League 1 and advanced to the semi-finals of the European Conference League.

Marseille will only pay 11 million euros for Guendouzi, which includes 850,000 euros for his loan move last summer. The 23-year-old midfielder signed a 3-year contract with Lyon and will stay in this club until the end of the 2024-25 season.

But Guendouzi is not the only player to leave Arsenal this summer, with several other players on Mikel Arteta's exit list. Among them, we can mention Lucas Torreira, who is negotiating with Fiorentina, and Hector Bellerin, who went to Real Betis on loan.
