Busquets: Salary cuts? I wish Barcelona would tell me things directly

Barcelona star Sergio Busquets has denied the Catalan club has proposed further salary reductions.

Barcelona

remains in a difficult situation financially and they still have problems with signing new players due to La Liga financial regulations.

There have been reports about first-team players taking further wage cuts but

Busquets

says he is disappointed to learn about these things from the press.

"I've heard a lot of things being said and when I come back from holiday I don't know what they will tell me,"

he said at a press conference.

"A salary reduction? I would like them to tell me, not find out in another way. I'm always willing to help. They have not proposed anything to us, doing it through the press is not the best way. I'm not a problem, I'm always willing to help," he said.

"It's not the best decision to do it through the press, it's always better to be direct and face to face.”

Busquets also talked about

Spain's

national team ahead of the game against Switzerland in the Nations League on Thursday.

"We've been a very good team, solid and compact, perhaps we lacked the success to win a match that we deserved,"

he said.

"It's going to depend on when we get to the World Cup when we see the other teams... in the end, we have to focus on what's coming and in my case take advantage of the experience that these tournaments have given me."
