Mourinho confirmed: Maitland-Niles will return to Arsenal
The English star will spend the next season at Emirates Stadium.
boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that
Ainsley Maitland-Nileswill return to
Arsenalafter a six-month loan in the Italian capital.
The Giallorossi loaned the 24-year-old midfielder to the winter transfer window, but he could not find a place in Mourinho's side. Now the Portuguese coach has confirmed that the Englishman will return to Arsenal.
Maitland-Niles wrote on his Instagram:
“Great way to end the season thank you to the Roma fans players and staff for embracing me and believing in me as one of their own for the short period of time spent at the club what a experience and to be a part of history with the club."
Mourinho posted a similar message on his Instagram story and wrote:
"We will miss you, one of us."
The Maitland-Niles played 12 games for Roma, including nine from the start. Mourinho is now looking for a new wing-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot among his options. The Portuguese coach was able to lead Roma to the league conference championship, which is the first championship of the team in the last 14 years.
