Verona coach Tudor part ways with the club on mutual agreement

Following the firing of Eusebio Di Francesco after three defeats to start the season, the former

center-back was recruited in September 2021.

Tudor witnessed a spectacular reversal with after

completing the season in the tenth position.

A statement from Tudor read:

“A difficult decision because at Verona I found a working atmosphere as well as a fantastic group of players and men who helped me create a perfect symphony with the club, thanks to which we achieved extraordinary results.

“I reflected at length, discussing [my thoughts] with the president, whose frankness and transparency in explaining the plans for next season I appreciated, but both agreed there weren’t all of the prerequisites required to continue together on the same road.

“In view of this, it is right that we each go our own way. An affectionate goodbye to the city Verona, where I was very happy and a hug to all the fans who treated me with affection and warmth.

“And the best of luck to Hellas Verona for the future.”

Tudor took over a Verona club that was bottom of the standings after three losses in their first three games, but he began his tenure with a 3-2 victory over Roma, Jose Mourinho's first defeat as head coach of the She-Wolf.

Verona also had victories over Lazio and Juventus, and they even interacted with European qualifications. 

Tudor was in his second season as a manager in

, having previously served as the coach of Udinese from 2018 to 2019.

The former Croatia player won two Scudettos with Juventus during his playing career.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Verona will look to substitute Tudor with Udinese manager Gabriele Cioffi.
