Rice is worth more than £100m - West Ham boss Moyes

The West Ham boss thinks that Declan Rice’s value is more than £100m and is going to be the England captain.

Declan Rice

’s deal will keep him at

West Ham

for another two years at the end of the campaign and the club is considering extending his contract for another year.

Manchester United

are keen on acquiring his services and they are facing competition with

Chelsea

and Manchester City for penning with the player, who has made his father his representative.

Quizzed if the England international’s value is more than £100m, David Moyes, after a long pause, replied:

"Yeah.

"I think I've said everything there is to say about Declan. He's a really important player for West Ham, he's someone who we value greatly and you can see what he means to the team.

"He's a really good individual and we're enjoying having him."

Rice netted a last-minute equalizer in their victory over Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup clash on Saturday.

The 23-year-old has been enjoying a rich vein of form this season as his side continues to fight for a top-four finish as well as push for Europa League and FA Cup silverware.

Rice was one of the crucial players for England at Euro 2020 last summer and Moyes believes in his capabilities. He is the captain in the absence of Mark Noble and may become the future captain of the national team.

"

As an individual, he's a really improving young man who's gaining a lot of experience,"

the Scot said.

"He's getting better and he learns an awful lot from Mark Noble.

"He [Rice] should look at Harry Kane and Harry Maguire and all of those senior players he's involved with for England, and take as much from them as he can, because in the future I've got no doubt he's got a great chance of going on to be a future England captain.

"We're really pleased to have him and he's an impressive young man."
