Fenerbahce keen on Diego Costa to boost their European chances
Diego Costa, a former Atletico Madrid striker, looks to be on the move once more.
After his most recent stint at Atletico Madrid, the Brazilian-born Spain international decided to return to his homeland.
Costa joined
Atletico Mineiro
on August 14, 2021, and made 15 appearances for the club, netting four goals.
During that period, he was instrumental in Mineiro's victories in the
Camionato de Brasileiro
and
Copa do Brasil
.
After changing his club 12 times during his career, he's again on the lookout for a new club, and it looks like he's found one.
Costa has been offered a contract by Turkish powerhouse Fernabahce until the end of the season, according to
Mundo Deportivo, and he is expected to accept.
In the following days, the 33-year-old is likely to join Fenerbahce in order to assist them to reach European football.
They are now one goal away from a
Europa Leaguequalification and eight points away from a
Champions Leaguespot.
Costa will be allowed to participate if he registers by the conclusion of today's deadline in the Europa Conference League, where they will play against Slavia Praha in the first knockout stage.
