The midfielder has attracted the attention of Newcastle, who are eager to reinforce their team to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
The Germany international, however, would rather join the Serie A champions, who will acquire him on a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy for €25 million (£21m/$28m).
Gosens has not been playing since September, but the Nerazzurri believe he is an ideal reinforcement.
Inter expect to lose Ivan Perisic, and Gosens emerges as a replacement for the Croatian.
Newcastle are even willing to offer him a €3.5 million per year (£3m/$4m), but Gosens is more interested in Inter’s €2.6 million (£2.2m/$3m) salary offer.
Gosens, whose current deal with Atalanta is due to expire in June 2023, has featured in 157 games for Atalanta since 2017. This season, on the other hand, he has only appeared in eight matches.
