Tunisia reached quarter-finals with 1-0 victory over Nigeria

Tunisia managed to reach the quarter-finals with a goal from Msakni.

Nigeria

advanced to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 1-0 victory over Nigeria last night.

In the group stage,

Tunisia

faced an outbreak of Covid-19 among their players and technical staff, and several players were absent from last night's match against Nigeria. However, they defeated Nigeria in the round of 16 to advance to the next round and face

Burkina Faso

, who beat Gabon on penalties.

While Tunisia had only one shot on target in the first half against Nigeria, Youssef Msakni took the lead in the second half and the team were able to defend their lead for 90 minutes.

While Alex Iwobi was only on the pitch for 7 minutes, he was shown a red card by the referee, and Nigeria were reduced to 10 men from the 66th minute. The referee initially showed him a yellow card for a foul on Msakni, but after examining the scene with the VAR, he decided to show him a straight red card.

The Super Eagles did their best to equalize the game, but in Moses Simon they failed to defeat Bechir Ben Said, and Umar Sadiq lost a great opportunity in lost time to eliminate his team from the competition.
