Dani Alves hopes for Messi retiring in Barcelona

The Brazilian star believes that Messi will one day retire at Camp Nou.

Barcelona

defender

Dani Alves

has expressed hope that

Lionel Messi

will finish his football career in Barcelona.

Alves and Messi were teammates in Barcelona for many years and won many honors, but the Brazilian defender left Barcelona for Juventus in 2016. At the time, Alves had no idea he would return to Camp Nou at the age of 38. However, in the year he returned to Barcelona, Lionel Messi left the team for Paris Saint-Germain, and now Alves has expressed hope that Messi will finish his football career in Barcelona.

He told

Sport

“Messi is the best player in the history of football. It’s strange to be here and not see him, to not have him in the squad.

“Sometimes things don’t happen as we dream. I already told him that he is not going to be in any better place than here.

“He told me the same when I left. It would be very good if Messi finishes his career here.”
