Salernitana’s clash against Udinese canceled

Salrenitana’s match was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak in the squad.

Coronavirus has forced Salernitana’s clash against

Udinese

at the Dacia Arena to be canceled as the visitors failed to show up at the stadium in time due to the virus outbreak.

Salernitana’s

situation was already clear as they were facing so many Covid-19 cases.

But Udinese treated the game as a usual one, and they even named their starting lineup for the match and their director has told DAZN that keeping the players safe is the league’s responsibility, but they can’t simply postpone a game because of a positive test in the squad although the visitors’ situation was more serious than a few positive tests.

Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino told DAZN:

"The league is right not to postpone the game. They have a duty to protect the regularity of the league season and a game must not be postponed because a player tests positive.

"We went to Rome to play Lazio with seven players and our coach out with COVID-19 last season, and we won 3-1."

This is not the first time that this kind of thing happen as

Napoli’s

clash against

Juventus

was canceled as they forfeited the game.
