Sassi hopes to face Egypt in semifinal

The former Zamalek star is waiting to face the Egypt in the semifinals.

Egypt

in the semi-finals of the FIFA Arab Cup.

Tunisia won the match against

Oman

on Friday and was able to book their place in the semifinals. Now, they are waiting for the outcome of the match between Jordan and Egypt to be determined, so that the other semi-finalist of the competition will be determined. However, Sassi hopes that Egypt will reach the semi-finals, the country in which he played for three years.

“With all due respect to Jordan, but I hope to face Egypt in the semi-finals. Egypt has a strong team, and when you play against a strong team, you take it more seriously.

“I always feel nostalgic for Egypt. I have of friends in Egypt, so I hope to meet the Egyptian national team and watch the Egyptian fans,”

he added.

Asked about a return to Zamalek, Sassi said: 

“If there is a possibility for me to return to Egypt, I will, I have no problem with that. But I still have a contract with Al-Duhail, I respect them very much and there are no problem with the team or anyone,."
