Udinese dismiss coach Luca Gotti

Udinese have dismissed coach Luca Gotti and his assistant manager is in charge as the interim boss, reflecting how he got the job in the first place.

As per reports from

Sky Sport Italia

,

Luca Gotti

and

Gabriele Cioffi

were asked to be present in the

Udinese

headquarters this evening, with Gino Pozzo calling the meeting.

Reportedly, the club coach had been dismissed from his duties and Cioffi would be appointed as the interim manager for the

Serie A

match this weekend.

However, the are some potential permanent options for the role, like ex-Granada boss Paco Jemez and former Cagliari coach Rolando Maran.

Gotti has been an assistant manager for the most part of his career, a role he emphasized that he preferred more than being a head coach. It included the 2018-19 season at

Chelsea

under Maurizio Sarri.

He also assisted Igor Tudor at Udinese before being promoted to an interim manager in 2019. He was expected to stay there until the club found a permanent solution, but he was convinced to remain put and he penned a new deal this summer until 2022.

However, the club’s poor start this season, with four victories, seven draws and six losses in Serie A and the Coppa Italia it was proved decisive.
