Alves became Barcelona's lowest paid player

The Brazilian star will spend the last years of his football career with his former team.

Dani Alves

became

Barcelona

's lowest paid player after returning to the team.

After five years away from Barcelona, the Brazilian defender finalized his transfer to Camp Nou today.

His contract was finalized on Friday

and he passed the medical tests today and will participate in the first training session that will be held in the evening. Alves has been with Barcelona for eight years and has won many titles with the club, and will now play under his former team-mate Xavi.

But signing Alves has cost Barca very little. In fact, he joined Barcelona as a free agent and has become the lowest paid player on the team. Due to Barcelona's very poor economic situation, they could not make a big purchase, and although they have a very good relationship with Alves, they can not pay him a decent salary.

However, depending on Alves' performance, his salary could increase. If they can win the trophy, Alves will be rewarded, although given Barcelona's circumstances, it seems far-fetched.

Alves, however, is happy with his situation in Barcelona and hopes to retire from a team in which he has won many trophies.
