Verona boss Tudor explains why he cannot use Ronaldo in his team

The Gialloblu have improved significantly under the stewardship of the Croatian boss.

Igor Tudor took over Hellas Verona in September, impressing many observers with his side's improvement in a short time frame.

The Gialloblu have already beaten Roma, Lazio, and Juve under Tudor while climbing all the way up to tenth place on the league table.

Tudor's side held Serie A leaders Napoli to a 1-1 draw on Sunday as they continued their four-game unbeaten streak.

In a new interview, the Croatian manager has spoken about his unique method of preparing for the games.

"It would be difficult to use our training methods in a top team,"

former Andrea Pirlo assistant told

DAZN.

"Perhaps, we could find a compromise by attacking and doing more zonal marking. It's a bit sick, in a good way. Surely, you can't propose something like this to a player like Cristiano Ronaldo.

"However, football evolves and a coach must do the same, making wise use of both phases."

Giovanni Simeone

, son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, has developed into a deadly striker under Tudor. The 26-year-old has scored nine goals and provided three assists in his 11 league games this season, standing on top of the goalscoring charts of all the top-five European leagues.

Verona will face Empoli in their next Serie A game on November 22.
