Maitland-Niles not thinking about leaving Arsenal

The English star was close to leaving the club, but now he is thinking about the future with Arsenal.

Arsenal

star Ainsley Maitland-Niles believes his talk of trying to leave the Gunners is a thing of the past and he is focused on his future with Arsenal.

Maitland-Niles spent the second half of last season on loan at West Brom and rumors of his future separation were heard. He wanted to leave Arsenal to have more opportunities to play. However, his situation has changed this season and he has played ten games for his team so far. Now he has claimed that he intends to build his future at Arsenal.

Asked about his past talks, Maitland-Niles replied:

That’s all in the past now.

“I am just thinking about the future and what’s ahead of me. It was great to be out there today, getting my minutes, and hopefully there is more to come.

“Yeah [I’m] always happy to be on the pitch and play, it’s a good feeling. Of course I’m looking for more minutes, I just need to keep my head down and keep going and working hard.”

Having played for Arsenal since the age of six, he made his club debut in 2014 at the age of 17. He has played a total of 131 games for Arsenal and hopes to continue his good run this season.
