Arsenal will attempt to sign Asensio in January
The Spanish star has attracted the attention of Londoners.
The Gunners made an offer to Real Madrid in the summer to sign Asensio, but Carlo Ancelotti, who has a special interest in Asensio, opposed the offer and prevented his departure with 34 million pounds. However, Arsenal have not given up hope and will once again try to sign the 25-year-old midfielder.
Asensio started the season on the bench of Real, but gradually reached the main squad and managed to score a hat-trick against Mallorca. However, in last night's humiliating defeat of Real Madrid against Sheriff Moldova, he was on the bench.
Arsenal spent £142 million on reinforcements last summer and it looks like the club's spending will continue and they are working to sign Asensio. Many believed that Asensio would become one of the best players in the world, but his injury in the friendly against Arsenal in the summer of 2019 and his absence from the field for almost a season, slowed down his growing trend.
Asensio will enter the final year of his contract next summer, which will be a special help to Arsenal in the negotiations.
