Roma trying to bring Diawara back to Italy after Guinea coup

The coup in Guinea has made things difficult for several European clubs.

Roma

is trying to bring its star Amadou Diawara back to Italy after he was imprisoned in a hotel following a military coup in Guinea.

A military group staged a coup in Guinea, blocking all access to the country after taking the president hostage. The World Cup qualifier between Guinea and Morocco has been postponed due to the country's political crisis.

Fiorentina players Sofyan Amrabat and Youssef Maleh were able to escape the hotel and fly to Italy. But Diawara is still stuck in a hotel and, along with other teammates, is waiting for the post-coup situation in their country to be clarified.

Reports suggest that Roma are in contact with the player and are working to make arrangements for his return to Italy and his release from the situation.
