Bayern Munich are unlikely to sign Haaland - Rummenigge

The Norwegian star has attracted the attention of the top clubs in Europe with his extraordinary performances in the Bundesliga.

Former

Bayern Munich

president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has claimed that the club is unlikely to be able to sign Erling Haaland and that keeping the player in Germany will be difficult.

Haaland have performed very well in Dortmund over the past 18 months and are recognized as one of the best players in the world. The 21-year-old striker has attracted the attention of many clubs in Europe and there is fierce competition for his purchase. However, Rummenigge believes that Bayern are unlikely to sign him and that keeping a player at his level is difficult in Germany.

He told

SportBild

:

"Haaland has become an absolute figurehead in the league.

"But I'm afraid he won't be staying in the Bundesliga. The numbers that are circulating show that it's difficult to keep him in Germany. I assume that his future lies abroad."

There is a clause in Haaland's contract with Dortmund that next summer, other clubs can sign him for 75 million euros. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Manchester City are some of the clubs that want to sign the Norwegian star.
