Official: Merih Demiral joins Atalanta on loan

Juventus have announced that Merih Demiral has joined Atalanta on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

La Dea are preparing to sell

Cristian Romero

to

Tottenham

as they have found a replacement, with

Demiral

quickly identified as their preferred target.

The Turkey international has been unveiled as an

Atalanta

player, with a deal worth €2.5m for the loan and an option to buy for €25m plus add-ons.

Juve

will also receive a percentage of the selling-on fee.

Arrived at Juve in the summer of 2019 from

Sassuolo

for €18 million, the 23-year-old played only 21 Serie A matches in two seasons for his side.

The domino will be completed with Tottenham announcing they have completed the signing of Cristian Romero from Atalanta, for a reported fee of €50m plus €5m in bonuses.

Juve will lose €4.8m on Romero’s transfer to Atalanta, while La Dea practically tripled their investment by selling him to Spurs.
