Barcelona struggle to offload Neto

The Catalans have failed to find a suitor for the Brazilian goalkeeper ahead of the next season.

Barcelona are determined to reduce their wage bill this summer due to La Liga regulations. The Spanish giants must make a saving of around €200million in order to register

Lionel Messi

’s new contract.

Neto

is among the players who are expected to leave the Catalan side this summer. However, according to

Mundo Deportivo

, Barcelona are struggling to find a suitor for the 32-year-old.

Tottenham

were interested in a summer move for Neto, but they ultimately signed

Pierluigi Gollini

from Atalanta. This leaves

Arsenal

as the sole suitors for the player. However, the Gunners’ interest in the goalkeeper has also ‘cooled off’ in recent weeks due to their desire to integrate a homegrown talent into their senior squad.

Neto himself is reportedly keen to leave Barcelona as he wants to secure more game time. Since his move from Valencia in 2019, the Brazilian keeper has featured in only nine league games for the Blaugrana.
