Kjaer says that their goal was to reach semi-finals

Denmark has talked about their goals in the Euro 2020 since the beginning.

captain has talked about his side’s ambitions in the Euro 2020, insisting that their goal was to reach Wembley, but he says that reaching the semi-finals can’t be enough for them.

“Our target was to get to Wembley,”

Kjaer told UEFA.com

. “I would be lying if I said that is enough for us to have reached the semi-finals.

“Now we think about recovering, because in four days we will have another very important game to play.

“We fought with our teeth and nails. We could have played a better game as we left a little too much initiative to our opponents, but luckily we managed to take a step back and defend ourselves.”

Denmark was defeated first two games of the group stage, but with a 4-1 win against Russia in the last game of the group stage, they managed to reach the knockout stages where they overcame Wales and Czech to reach the semi-finals where they will face England at Wembley.

Their worst memory of the tournament was Eriksen’s heart attack which all the football fans around the world, but the team was more determined to make their absent star happy with their performance in the competition.

Now they are going to face England in the semi-final in a game that will be on the opponent’s soil in a situation that Gareth Southgate’s England is so determined to end their long wait for a major trophy.
