Simon Kjaer surprised by the support they had in Euro 2020

Denmark captain Simon Kjaer has hailed the support his side received from the fans during their Euro 2020 campaign.

After a poor start in their EURO 2020 campaign, Denmark bounced back despite two consecutive defeats against

Finland

and

Belgium

. They hammered

Russia

4-1 in the 3rd game of their group stage fixture. The Danes, then, got the better of

Wales

in the last-16 clash where they won 4-0. They will next face the

Czech Republic

in their quarter-finals clash.

The Milan defender was amazed by the amount of support they got from the fans both on and off the pitch.

“Not even in my dreams could I have imagined the support we had in this European Championship,”

Kjaer

said at a press conference.

“On and off the pitch.

“We enjoy it, and it gives us players a good feeling also heading into the next match. It’s difficult to imagine that we will relive such a thing in the future.”

Denmark

will lock horns with the

Czech Republic

this evening in their Euro 2020 quarter-final stage. Both teams are evenly matched on the paper as they have been the black horses of the tournament so far.
