Man City youngster Harwood-Bellis joins Kompany’s Anderlecht on loan
Taylor Harwood-Bellis is going to join former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht on loan for the upcoming season.
Former
Manchester Citycaptain
Vincent Kompany
is preparing for his second season in charge at
Anderlecht.
Last season, Kompany called on his former club for help and he managed to take
Lukas Nmecha
on a temporary deal.
Nmecha made 37 league appearances over the course of his stay in Belgium through which he was able to score 18 goals.
Now Manchester City defender
Taylor Harwood-Bellis
is going to join Kompany at Lotto Park on loan for the upcoming season.
Harwood-Bellis spent the back half of last season in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and it is hoped that the teenager can make a similar impact as Nmecha.
Harwood-Bellis joined Manchester City’s academy at the age of six and has made eight appearances for the senior team so far.
On his arrival, Anderlecht sporting director
Peter Verbeke
said:
"Taylor is a young central defender who already plays with a lot of personality and maturity.
"His training at City, together with experience in the Championship, makes him a player who is good on the ball and who has a lot of aggressivity and audacity."
