Fulham boss Scott Parker set to leave the club and Join Bournemouth

Fulham are in negotiations with head manager Scott Parker over his future, while Bournemouth keep an eye on his potential availability in the Championship.

Bournemouth are interested in speaking with Parker on becoming their new coach after missing out on advancement to the

Premier League

 in the playoffs last season.

Last season, in Parker's second full season as permanent manager of Fulham, the team was relegated from the Premier League.

Parker's prospective transfer is complicated by salary and severance money since the former Fulham playmaker is under the agreement until the summer of 2023 at Craven Cottage.

If Parker were fired or quit his job, where he has held since 2019, the club would escape paying compensation. He would forfeit the severance compensation he was due from Fulham if he quit.

A third option is a consensual parting of how Fulham would pay Parker a percentage of his severance compensation rather than the whole amount.

Following the firing of

Jason Tindall

in February, Bournemouth are seeking a new manager. Former Tottenham defender

Jonathan Woodgate

has been placed in interim control until the end of the season.

After Bournemouth's playoff defeat to Brentford, Woodgate confessed he was worried about his future, saying: "

It's been a crazy few months - at the end of the day, it's not my decision

."

Bournemouth would welcome the opportunity to talk with Parker if he was available, as they have been following his growth as a manager for some years.
