Koeman has something personal against me - Matheus Fernandes

The 22-years-old told Mundi Deportivo that he believes the Barcelona boss has a personal problem with him.

in 2020 and has only featured for 17 minutes all season.

I think Koeman has something personal against me,”

Fernandes said.

“Why? I don’t know. At first I started to play a little more. The coach told me that I wouldn’t have many opportunities, but that I’d have some. I’ve only played 17 minutes and I don’t understand why; there are games where I could have played easily, like some other players.

“I don’t know what’s going on in the coach’s head. I think we could have talked to each other more, the coach and me. The days before the games, which were more tactical, I hardly trained with the group. I always thought it was a personal thing because he didn’t talk to me.”

Barcelona put pen to paper for the Brazilian with a transfer fee of €7m plus €3m in variables from Palmeiras. He was then sent on a loan spell to Real Valladolid, but when returned he was only given a few minutes of game time.

Barcelona never presented him as their official player. His bad luck followed him from Valladolid back to the Blaugrana as he was struggling with administrative problems that postponed his debut with Pucela and then Covid-19 pushing him even further down. He has only played in three games in total.

Barca were going to cash in on him in the summer but he opted to remain and push for game time, but he sustained a hamstring injury that forced him out from September to October.
