Andonovski announces his USWNT squad

USWNT has announced his squad for the summer friendlies.

USWNT

will have three friendly matches before their boss

Vlatko Andonovski

makes his final decision for his Olympic squad. The 23 players that Andonovski has chosen will play against Portugal, Jamaica, and Nigeria. All the players will try their best to be on the coach’s 18-player roster for the Olympics.

“These games and the few training sessions we’ll have are just more tests, more challenges and more learning opportunities, for the players and coaches,”

Andonovski said in a

federation release

.

“The three matches will certainly be important in the selection of the Olympic team, but we are also focused on the big picture and the overall body of work the players have put together over the past year or so for the national team and their clubs.

"During these games we’ll also focus on preparing for the Olympic group matches, so we need to balance all of that, as well as manage the overall physical load on the players.”

The USWNT has been facing trouble with the injury of two key players

Julie Ertz

and

Tobin Heath

. Ertz was injured in his club Chicago Red Stars, and Heath is recovering from a serious knee injury, so both of them will miss their side’s friendly matches, although Heath was invited to the training camp to keep fighting to reach the Olympics.

Here is the squad that Andonovski has named to play for the USWNT in the friendly games.
