AFC Cup victory was the result of Al Salt's dominance - Abu Abed

Al Salt boss Jamal Abu Abed believes his squad’s dominance resulted in a 2-1 victory over Al Ansar in the 2021 AFC Cup’s Group B on Monday.

“They players did very well and they followed our instructions.

“It was a tense match and our team really focused because we needed the victory. I want to thank the players for this big effort as they were playing their second match in only four days.

“It is hard to fix all the mistakes in two days but we tried our best after the previous match. We showed our personality today and I hope we can continue to prove that we are one of the best teams in the competition.”

revealed that their rivals Al Salt deserved to win, explaining that the results were fair.

I congratulate Al Salt for the win as we played against strong opponents who had a better start to the match,”

said the German coach.

“We needed some time in order to find our rhythm and they were lucky to win with a late goal.”

“We needed more power in order to hold on for the draw but in general, it was a fair result.

“I always prepare my team to play good football regardless of who we are playing but today, Al Salt were the better team.

All the teams in the group now have an equal chance and we must concentrate on the last match against Muharraq, which will be decisive for us,”
