Ranieri to leave Sampdoria at the end of the season

Ranieri will leave the team in the summer after two years with the team

boss Claudio Ranieri will leave the club at the end of the season after his contract expires.

According to Sky Italia, the 69-year-old coach announced to his players on Friday that he will not renew the two-year contract he signed in 2019 when he joined the club. Ranieri believes that his journey in Sampdoria is over and he is looking for a new challenge either in Italy or abroad and he wants to continue his 35-year coaching career.

He will lead Sampdoria for the last time in the match against Parma on Saturday. In 2019, after six defeats in the first seven league games, Ranieri replaced Eusebio Di Francesco in the team. He finished ninth this season, beating champions Inter Milan and Atalanta, the Champions League and Roma.

Ranieri won his biggest honor in the Premier League with

Leicester City

, and in 2016 he won the Premier League with this team. The news of his departure from Sampdoria came on the same day that Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs, the stars of the Leicester City champion team, announced that they would leave the team in the summer.
